doc-krec-ipadKentucky Regional Extension Center (Kentucky REC), housed at the University of Kentucky College of Medicine, is one of a select group of organizations throughout the United States charged with assisting providers, practices, and hospitals in the achievement of Meaningful Use of Electronic Health Records (EHRs).

The Kentucky REC was selected by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) for Health Information Technology to serve providers in the Commonwealth of Kentucky.

Today, the Kentucky REC is a leader in Health Information Technology (HIT) implementation working to improve the quality and effectiveness of care through Electronic Health Information.

Collaboration between your organization and the Kentucky REC represents an opportunity for a pivotal transformation in patient care. This collaboration would result in a relationship built on business synergies, practice efficiencies, and the mutual goal of unrivaled health outcomes.

On July 26th, the Government Accountability Office (GAO) released a report finding that health care providers who work with RECs are twice as likely to receive Medicare EHR incentive payments as those that don’t work with RECs.
The Kentucky REC is a trusted information technology advisor and partner to healthcare organizations—supplying seasoned professionals and expert guidance to maximize quality, safety, and financial performance.

“This isn’t just about technology. The goal is better and safer health care, and that means it’s about patient—about their health care and protection of their information.”—Farzard Mostashari, MD, ScM., National Coordinator for Health Information Technology
